Snooze Inn

Fortitude Valley

Just outside the Valley’s pulsating heart, this 27 room no frills hotel in a converted 1950’s shop offers good value for the traveller looking for comfort, cleanliness and basic neutral décor devoid of garishness.

The rooms may be compact but each has their own ensuite and flat screen TV with cable, free internet, tea and coffee. There’s also a guest kitchenette for those who like to self cater and a guest lounge for those who like to mingle.

Although there is no room service, a light complimentary ‘Grab & Go’ breakfast of self-serve juice, tea and coffee, cereal & freshly baked pastries is on offer in the guest kitchen daily.

Also included in the tariff is free car parking in the nearby Valley Metro Car park.

It may seem a little out of the action in the Valley but except for all-night party types, this is a blessing. Recommended bars a short walk away include the Sky Room, Barsoma, Limes Hotel rooftop and Kerbside. Café wise, not to be missed is Flamingo cafe in funky Winn Lane.

For a little dark history of the immediate area, the glass and concrete red-trimmed medical technology building opposite, on the corner of Amelia St was once the home of the infamous Whisky Au Go Go night club in which 15 people died when it was fire bombed in 1973.
