FOSH Bar & Restaurant is a stunning Queenslander-style bar and seafood restaurant located on the riverfront at Hamilton's Portside Wharf.
The main restaurant area has a glamorous summer vibe, with contemporary meets retro decor, featuring sheer curtains, VJ'ed walls, curved booths, cream chairs and black tables and pot plants, with an open kitchen along one side and a circular tiled bar in the middle.
The bar, separated from the restaurant by Queenslander-style arches and ceiling to floor bi-folds, occupies the enclosed terrace overlooking the river - the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine whilst watching the sun set over the city skyline in the distance.
The food menu at FOSH re-imagines seafood with a modern creative twist, with the restaurant serving seafood that has been line caught within 24 hours, accompanied by fresh Australian produce.
To start there's a choice of fish finger sandwich (crumbed fish, tartare and chives); pan brioche with soft butter and fosh gravy; or the highly recommended whipped taramasalata with fish roe and pan brioche.
For caviar lovers, there's a choice of caviar bumps either with a shot of Arienne vodka or glass of Moet Chandon, or Oscietra blini with blini, crème fraîche, chives, grated egg white; while the raw seafood and oyster section includes tuna or scallop crudo, kingfish and cured ocean trout.
Starters include prawn cocktail with baby cos & mary rose sauce; Mooloolaba king prawn roasted in xo butter & herb oil; Hokkaido scallops grilled with kombu butter, scallions; BBQ squid, peas, marinated pepper & green salsa; and spiced lamb ribs, chermoula and honey.
Seafood mains include pan seared snapper, verjuice beurre blanc, chives & kale; BBQ toothfish, mushroom ragu & herb crumb; 1kg black mussels, white wine, garlic, confit tomato & parsley; Moreton Bay bugs, spaghetti, chilli, garlic & lemon butter & bottarga; or dry aged fish.
FOSH also offers a small delicious selection of meat & vegetable mains, including twice-cooked chicken (half or whole), mushroom velouté, porcini dust & chives; smoked eggplant, almond skordalia, fried shallots & herbs; and eye fillet 200G MB2+ with beef jus or mushroom sauce.
All mains come with a choice of one side, such as potato scallops, village salad, fried greens or Paris mash, and for dessert there's Fosh chocolate cake, lemon tart, creme caramel or cheese selection.
There's also hot and cold seafood platters. live seafood (Queensland mud crab or Southern rock lobster) and a choice of 3 (great value) set menus.
