Offering terrace style seating in curved booths under blue and white umbrellas or a smattering of dining tables both in and outside, Yamas, which is by the owners of Opa Bar & Mezzze in Brisbane City, also features a long marble bar with more seating and an open kitchen.

The delicious food menu derives from all of the regions of Greece, with all of the generously proportioned dishes designed to share.

Start with Psomi (traditional village) served with delectable house-made tzatziki, taramasalata, white tyrokafteri (hot pepper and feta) or warm Santorini fava (split broad bean mousse) or Yamas chips (eggplant, kefalograviera, crushed tomato).

Cold & Raw choices include Oyster Yamas (with ouzo, citrus, tomato); king prawns with white taramasalata; or ocean trout (Poros style, with pickled cucumber, capers, onion, vinegar & olive oil). And from the Salata section there's Horiatiki (Greek) salad, Santorini (cherry tomatoes, thyme, caper leaves & feta) and Watermelon Salata.

The impressive range of Meze includes Paidakia (grilled lamb cutlet with red onion & taztziki); Tomatokeftedes (tomato, feta, kefalograviera' mint & yoghurt); Saganaki (grilled kefalograviera cheese served on a hot pan with fig sauce); Loukaniko (spicy village sausage) and Kalamari (flash-fried, with lemon and yoghurt mustard).

Large plates include Moussaka; Hilopites(braised beef, square pasta & tomato); Prasopita (leek and cheese filo); Dry Aged T-Bone or Arni Me Aginares (lamb, carrots, artichokes, peas. dill & lemon sauce).

Must-try is the Souvla - lamb or chicken served with a touch of ground beef and pork rice, chestnuts, pine nuts, sultanas, herbs and a complimentary side of choice (lemon potatoes, chips, stuffed capsicum or bamies - okra, slow-cooked with tomato, onion and feta).

Meantime a handful of Psari (seafood) dishes include Whole Baby Barramunidi (with orzo pasta, tomato, garlic & white wine); Ocean Trout (fillet baked with tomato & onions) or lobster live from the tank.
