The Sugar Market is Brisbane’s very first dessert festival, being held in a Fortitude Valley laneway next to The Wickham hotel.
A must attend for keen sweet tooths, The Sugar Market was born out of a love of all things sweet, sticky and chocolate-coated and promises the most decadent line-up of stalls ever seen in one place in Brisbane.
More than a dozen stalls from Brisbane’s dessert masters will be in attendance, with Lucid Sweets providing a rainbow of their exquisite little meringues, Zoe’s Brownies with a hoard of indulgent fudgey squares and
Fiori Bakehouse with their miniature boozy cupcakes.
Adding to the decadence will be Minus 32 with luscious ice-cream cronuts, My Plate Clean Treats and their guilt-free raw treats, Mr Brulee, Old Style Russian Fudge, Chokola’j, Southside Bistro, Swedish Candy Bar and Two Teas serving sweet iced tea.
As well as the sweet stalls and food vans there’ll be an assortment of pop-up bars peddling drinks such as frose, summer’s coolest concoction (frozen rose wine) and a line-up of acoustic musicians to keep things rocking along.
Nice to know – Behind the festival are major sponsors The Gourmand & Gourmet, Lucid Sweets and The Wickham, with plans to make the festival an annual event.
