Spin The Spoon

Milton

SPIN THE SPOON HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Spin the Spoon Turkish restaurant brings a touch of exotica to Milton’s Park Road with its colourful al fresco seating in garden beds and fairylit palm trees underneath a purple marquee.

Customers can dine in the oasis-like setting (with annexed hookah lounge), takeaway or grab a quick bite to eat in the no frills takeaway section.

The extensive menu incorporates the usual Turkish favs with a few other regional specialties thrown in. For Starters there’s light stuff like traditional Turkish bread and Dips (Baba ganoush, Beetroot, Carrot and Jakita – cucumber, garlic, yoghurt and aioli) along with  Sigara Bareji (feta cheese, herb and filo pastry),  Mezze Platters (which come recommended) and Salads such as the Istanbul (chicken with sesame, roasted almond, seasonal greens, lemon juice and olive oil).

For something more substantial there’s a choice of Turkish Pide and traditional Turkish Clay Pots (poached chicken, lamb or vegetables) and dishes from the Char Grill (Turkish meatballs, lamb or chicken shish and mixed grill). Chef’s Specials include Moussaka and Hurrem Sultan (marinated grilled chicken, rice, creamy mash potato and chef’s special sauce) and for Desserts there’s Turkish Baklava, Sultac (Rice pudding) and a special Chef’s Platter with a selection of delicious sweets.

Spin the Spoon also has a good little Kids Menu with a choice of Chicken or Lamb Shish or Lamb Cutlets, all served with fresh salad, rice and home made garlic yoghurt, or mini Pides (Chicke, salami, or tomato and cheese).
