Dark Tonic Roasters

Chermside

Dark Tonic Roasters is a small batch, boutique coffee roastery and cafe, found tucked away in the backstreets of Chermside.

The northside coffee nook with monochromatic colour scheme provides seating inside and out, with dog-friendly dining available out front on the footpath and out back in a charming, under cover patio complete with potted plants.

While the main attraction here is the fantastic, house roasted coffee, there is an extensive all day breakfast menu including classic bacon and eggs, eggs Benedict, and smashed avo on sourdough with pumpkin hummus, feta, beetroot relish, and Egyptian dukkah

Rounding out the menu are burgers, bagels, toasties and croissants. Burgers range from a bacon and egg breaky burger and juicy beef burger with cheese and bacon, to chicken schnitzel and tandoori chicken burgers; while bagels include the Breaky Deluxe (bacon, egg, potato rosti, spinach and tomato) and Vegetarian bagel topped with pumpkin hummus, halloumi, spinach and tomato.

Coffee is roasted on-site with 2 blends to choose from - Distinction or Twilight - and goes down a treat with the house made treats on offer such as carrot cake, banana bread, blueberry, lemon or strawberry cheesecake, and rocky road slice. Plus, there's a selection of gluten-free treats like lemon slice, cherry slice,  and chocolate fudge brownies.

Besides house roasted coffee, there are pots of tea, specialty lattes (turmeric, lavender or charcoal), milkshakes, frappes and smoothies.

Nice to know - Dark Tonic is kid friendly with a dedicated menu for children that includes bacon and egg with soldier toast, pancakes with maple syrup and ice cream, toasted cheese sandwich, and chicken nuggets with chips.
