Zone Fresh Gourmet Markets

Zone Fresh in Windsor is a locally owned and operated green grocer and gourmet market with an on-site deli, butcher, and even a florist.  

Open daily from 6:30am to 7pm, this one-stop shop offers everything from the basic essentials like bread and milk, to fresh seasonal produce, and a plethora of pantry staples including pastas, sauces, pastes, pickles, peppers, olive oils and vinegars, crackers, biscuits and assorted sweets, with many items in store sourced locally. 

From the Gold Coast hinterland to Glass House Mountains, South East Queensland has an amazing array of local products. As well as recognizable names like Maleny and Barambah Dairies, Lick Ice Cream and The Bagel Boys, to name a few, you'll find a range of niche gourmet products by local makers you may never have heard of such as Brisbane-based Segreti (Italian for secret), purveyor of handcrafted antipasti and gourmet dips. 

Zone Fresh sources only the best, seasonal fruit and vegetables available, purchasing its produce from Rocklea Markets each morning. Upon entering the store, you'll see rows and rows of brightly coloured produce: Granny Smith and Pink Lady apples, Ruby Red grapefruits and purple plums, blueberries and raspberries, yellow pawpaw and red papaya, dragon fruit and fresh figs.

As for vegetables, there's the usual - broccoli, carrots and capsicums - a variety of spuds, sweet potatoes, cabbages (green, red, wombok) and lettuce (Fancy, Iceberg, Baby Cos), as well as fresh ginger and garlic. 

For entertainers, the gourmet deli boasts an impressive range of cheeses, cured meats, pate (chicken and duck) and antipasti, including over 20 types of olives; from chilli marinated and smoked kalamata to goats cheese stuffed green olives.

In addition, there are more than 30 kinds of dips including classics like spring onion and hummus, along with gourmet flavours such as smoked trout or sweet chilli crab.

The vast range of local artisanal and imported cheeses offers something for everyone’s taste and budget. There's soft bries and camemberts, blue veins and vintage cheddars, creamy havartis and Greek fetas, not to mention cheeses made of sheep and goats' milk.

While cured meats on offer include pastrami, prosciutto, salami, baked ham, roast beef, turkey, mortadella and many more, that will compliment your charcuterie board or platter perfectly.

Feeling hungry? The deli has freshly-made gourmet sandwiches, a dozen salads (like Greek, Mediterranean cous cous, creamy potato, pesto pasta or roast pumpkin with chicken and walnuts), and an abundance of handmade pastries - pies, sausage rolls, filos - that are ideal for lunch or an easy meal for dinner. Or pick up a delicious ready-made meal to go, from family-sized lamb and rosemary or beef and red wine pies to pasta dishes such as fettucine carbonara or sand crab lasagna - ready to pop in the microwave or oven to heat up.

The butcher can help you pick the perfect steak, slice to order or suggest a seasoning, with a range of tantalising barbecue and hot sauces and dry rubs on hand. From Angus to Wagyu, free-range chicken to pork, meats are sourced locally whenever possible.

You’ll also find some great gourmet items made by hand such as sausages in mouth-watering flavours like honey and smoky chipotle pork, pepper and worcestershire, or lamb, mint and rosemary. Plus, there's a fantastic selection of fresh Australian seafood including salmon, prawns, cod, tuna, swordfish and more.

Zone Fresh even has an on-site florist, who hand-selects all the flowers from local markets. You can grab a bunch of flowers in store or use the 'made to order' service and have a bouquet specially made for any occasion, such as birthdays, Mother's Day or Valentine's Day. There's a great range of indoor plants on hand too.
