Originally adapted for the stage in 2006, the content and questions posed by the play remain powerfully relevant in today’s vastly different social and cultural landscape. This captivating work poses questions and examines moral issues in relation to society's fears and prejudices, requiring its audiences to question the reality of truth, and notions of personal responsibility.

Hitler's Daughter, QUT Gardens Theatre

This award-winning show tells the story of Hitler's daughter through the eyes of four Australian children. It begins early one morning as the friends wait for the school bus in country Australia.  As they shelter in the bus stop from a raging storm, they decide to play a simple game of storytelling. Anna begins to tell an intriguing story about Heidi, the daughter of Adolf Hitler. Her friend Mark becomes engrossed in Anna's story and begins to ask questions of his friends, teachers and parents; as the play switches between 1940's Nazi Germany and contemporary Australia.

The audience is left with the lingering question, Did Hitler really have a daughter? In an age of fake news and fact manipulation, extreme ideologies and rising nationalism, there has never been a more important and relevant time to present this work.

Need to know - Hitler's Daughter is recommended for ages 10+.
