The Frond Cafe is a super cute cafe found opposite New Farm Park on Sydney Street serving top-notch foodie fare and specialty coffee.
This little charmer is child-friendly and dog-friendly with plenty of seating inside - with pretty, pastel decor - and outside overlooking picturesque New Farm Park.
The all-day, seasonal menu, crafted by the cafe’s fine-dining trained chef, is divided evenly into savoury and sweet dishes.
The former includes portobello mushrooms stuffed with ricotta and sun-dried tomatoes served with two poached eggs and grilled asparagus, and spring onion and cream cheese waffles with fried or poached eggs, bacon and house made sweet chili jam.
Sweet tooths can choose from panna cotta with house made granola and fresh fruit to pancake stacks with house made ice-cream or berry sorbet, and French toast with whipped cream, poached pears and homemade honeycomb.
A concise menu for kids includes pancakes with maple syrup and vanilla or chocolate ice-cream, and bacon and egg on toast.
Coffee on pour is by Toby’s Estate, along with The Frond’s signature Black Diamond espresso served on sparkling, and Goldilocks - a milky house made cold brew. In addition, there’s sticky chai, spiced banana rice milk, tea and soft drinks.
Nice to know - This community-minded cafe donates 5% of all profits to charity.
