Société is a French-inspired patisserie café found on the ground floor of The Valley Brisbane hotel in Fortitude Valley.
Taking over the space formerly occupied by Belle Epoque, Société has retained its predecessor’s French charm with banquette seating, bistro chairs and bevelled mirrors.
Breakfast, served from 6:30 until 11:30, includes light eats like toasted muesli served with vanilla yoghurt and seasonal fruit, croissant with strawberry jam and banana bread with ricotta and The Valley’s roof-top honey.
More substantial offerings consist of ham and cheese croissants with bechamel sauce, croque monsieur with baked ham, gruyere cheese, crème fraiche and thyme, and grilled haloumi with smashed avocado, scrambled eggs and toasted sourdough.
The patisserie boasts an assortment of sweet treats; from French macarons (chocolate, pistachio and salted caramel) and raw treats provided by local supplier My Plate Clean Treats - think raw chocolate bounty bars and peanut butter slice – to decadent desserts such as sticky date pudding and marshmallow chocolate tarts.
Coffee on pour is Will & Co. Otherwise, there are pots of tea, cold press juices and milkshakes.
