A favourite southside haunt on a hot day is Hibiscus Swimming Pool located in the Hibiscus Sports Complex at Upper Mt Gravatt.

With three pools, a water play area and water slide, Hibiscus has something for everyone – including a 50m Olympic-sized outdoor pool with shade at the shallow end and two indoor heated pools (25m & 12m). In addition, you'll find a fully-fenced wading pool with tropical island water feature for toddlers and a slippery-dip for children of all ages.

Hibiscus is an ideal location with lots of lawn and leafy shade to relax under as well as plenty of picnic tables, with a cafe on site selling espresso coffee, light lunches and ice blocks. Meanwhile, swimming lessons are provided all year round by the family owned and operated Hibiscus Swimming Academy.

Good to know - During winter, only the indoor heated pools are open.

Need to know - Other facilities at the complex include a free skate park, gym and squash courts.
