Fentons At The Ipswich Club

Ipswich

FENTONS CLOSED IN 2022 AND IS NOW HOME TO GRAYS RESTAURANT AND BAR.

Fentons is located in the stunning surrounds of the (normally) members-only Ipswich Club, which on Friday evenings opens its doors to the public to serve delicious tapas to Ipswich locals.

The Ipswich Club is a 20th century typically Queenslander home, with an expansive deck that wraps around the building, which acts as the main dining area on Friday nights. There is also some seating inside near the bar. Fentons has two function rooms, as well as a gorgeous, expansive garden out the front.

The tapas menu is short and sweet, with delectable tapas dishes from all around the world. Starting with some excellent fresh seafood, like Fenton’s oysters which are served with finger lime pearls and a vinaigrette.

The crisped cauliflower served with a pumpkin puree is a unique dish that’s definitely worth a try, whether vegetarian or not.

Naturally, arancini is on the tapas menu, with Fentons serving a special pizza arancini.

There’s an Asian influence in a few of Fentons dishes including their chilli salt edamame, which is a popular order with the locals.

Fentons also serves an amazing charcuterie board, laden with different cold cuts, two types of cheeses, pickles and other garnishes.

You can’t leave without tasting Fentons famous dessert – with a selection of two desserts you may as well try both, starting with their vanilla panna cotta.

Fentons home makes their own ice cream, creating their tasting board of three different flavours; spearmint, passion fruit and milk bottle. Served inside a brandy snap with coulis – it’s a great finisher to an extravagant meal.

Need to know – parking is available onsite. The Ipswich Club is only open on Friday evenings to the public, with bookings only taken by appointment for members at all other times.
