Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO® Bricks is an awesome exhibition for all ages, where architecture meets creative play at the Ipswich Art Gallery.

The installation features astonishing skyscrapers (some up to 3m high) constructed from LEGO bricks with breathtaking architectural detail and accuracy by Australia’s only certified LEGO professional Ryan McNaught.

It also includes some of the most iconic towers including Taiwan’s Taipei 101, Japan’s Tokyo Skytree, Kuala Lumpur’s twin Petronas Towers and the highly anticipated self-contained city that will be China’s Shanghai Tower. Australian architectural marvels featured include Brisbane’s Infinity Tower and the Gold Coast’s Q1, along with the skyline-defining skyscraper Sydney Tower.

Once inspired, visitors can also create their own ‘towers of tomorrow’ with over 200,000 loose LEGO bricks featured in hands-on construction areas.

Ryan McNaught, one of only 12 Certified LEGO® professionals worldwide, and his team of builders used more than half a million LEGO bricks (over 1.5 tons of LEGO) and took more than 2,000 hours to build the structures featured in the Towers of Tomorrow exhibition.

“I was thrilled to work with Sydney Living Museums on this first-of-its-kind exhibition. Creating two to three-metre high versions of these iconic buildings has been an incredible challenge, pushing the almost limitless possibilities of LEGO. The results should amaze and inspire visitors of all ages,” said Ryan McNaught.

The family-friendly travelling exhibition from Sydney Living Museums has already inspired crowds at the Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory in Darwin, Townsville’s Museum of Tropical Queensland and the Rockhampton Art Gallery before making its way to Ipswich.
