A Halloween disco, creepy carnival performers and after-dark wildlife encounters are taking over Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary this Halloween, with a spooky evening of family-friendly fun on October 31.
From 4pm on Saturday, October 31, families can head to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for a Halloween celebration packed with dress-ups, dancing and plenty of spooky surprises.
Little monsters can hit the dance floor at the Halloween disco, hosted by DJ Brad from Activ8 Kids Entertainment from 6pm to 8pm, while creepy carnival performers roam the event and face painting gives kids the chance to transform into their favourite Halloween characters.
There’ll also be a dress-up competition and free trick-or-treat bags for the kids, so come dressed to impress. When hunger strikes, food trucks and the Riverside Cafe will be serving food and drinks throughout the evening.
For something a little more adventurous, Lone Pine is also running two special guided Nocturnal Tours exclusively for Halloween. The tours offer a chance to explore the sanctuary after dark and spot some of Australia's fascinating nocturnal wildlife, including koalas, echidnas, wombats, Tasmanian devils and smaller marsupials such as potoroos, bettongs and pademelons.
Choose from the first tour running from 5.30pm to 7pm or the later Night Tour from 7.30pm to 9pm for an extra-spooky way to experience the sanctuary.
The Halloween celebration kicks off at 4pm on Saturday, October 31, at the Riverside Cafe at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Fig Tree Pocket. Entry to the Halloween event costs $5 per person, while the nocturnal tours cost $79 for adults and $39.50 for children. Free parking is available.
