The Taubman Approach In Concert Series

Uq

The Taubman Approach in Australia Concert Series is a rare two-part concert series featuring some of the finest pianists in Australia, all of whom have benefitted from studying the Taubman Approach to piano technique.

Open to both conference pass holders and the public, the concerts will run concurrently with a weekend workshop on healthy piano technique at the University of Queensland featuring US expert John Bloomfield from NYC.

Concert 1: Liam Viney & Anna Grinberg (UQ Ensemble-in-Residence)

The Taubman Approach in Australia Concert Series

The Viney-Grinberg Piano Duo enjoys an international profile in duo piano performance, involving festivals, major series, live radio broadcasts, and orchestras. The Brisbane-based duo's innovative and creative approach has resulted in collaborations with composers, artists, dancers, choreographers and other established performing ensembles.
For this electrifying recital they will perform audience favourite Schubert’s Fantasie in F minor, followed by the innovative sound world of Yevgeniy Sharlat’s "Touch Divided, Blocked" for two pianos and the epic minimalist John Adams - "Hallelujah Junction". Feb 4 6pm (60-70mins)

Concert 2: Joe Chimdano & Zoe Black (violin)

Zoe Black and Joe Chindamo are routinely described as edgy and a welcome new and unique voice to the world of Chamber music: their music is informed by the rigour of classical music and the excitement and urbanity of jazz and displays a daring disregard for boundaries.
For their exclusive Brisbane performance, they will perform Chindamo’s works: Nine Lives of La Folia, Three Spaces, Symbiosis, American Spirit, and some surprise re-imaginings of music by Handel and Gershwin. Feb 5 6pm (60-70mins)

Need to know – Tickets available at door for $25-$30 (cash only) or discounted online. One day including concert and workshop $125.10 & two day $242.10 (until Feb 3) online only.
