Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of)

Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) is the riotous musical comedy bringing Jane Austen’s beloved love story to Brisbane from 30 September to 18 October. 

Direct from its Olivier Award-winning West End run, the irreverent show swaps the drawing room for the stage, with five fearless women taking on every character, from Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy to the entire Bennet family. 

Expect an atmosphere that is anything but traditional Austen, with romance, class, chaos and plenty of comedy packed into one wildly energetic performance. The cast brings the story to life with heart and humour, creating a smart, laugh-out-loud take on one of the world’s most adapted pieces of literature.

The show is also packed with pop classics, turning Austen’s world into a full-blown musical party. Expect songs including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and You’re So Vain woven through the story as men, money and microphones become the ultimate battleground.

At the centre of it all is the timeless question of whether Elizabeth and Darcy will finally find their happily ever after, only this time with a very cheeky twist. With its mix of sharp comedy, big musical moments and an affectionate nod to the original, Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of) promises a seriously fun night out.
