Pippy Fish Cafe

Brisbane bayside’s newest must-try venue, Pippy Fish Café, is creating quite a buzz, offering both an up-market seafood dining experience and the perfect fare for a picnic in the park.

With a prime position overlooking Beth Boyd Park and Waterloo Bay, Pippy is the perfect spot to meet for a quality bite to eat and a beverage.

Pippy’s dine-in menu will impress the most discerning pescatarian with its seasonal selection. Entrée choices include the black bao bun with soft shell crab and the luxe lobster tail brioche roll; while the Mains menu features favourites such as chilli prawn fettucine and crispy skin salmon, and for the serious seafood connoisseur, the ultimate feasting-with-friends option - Pippy’s deluxe hot and cold seafood platters.

A carefully curated beverage menu boasts an impressive list of Australian craft beers, with a focus on independent producers, and a rotating on-tap offering. There’s also a wine selection perfect for seafood pairing, leaning heavily towards light Australian whites, but with selections also for lovers of red, rosé and prosecco.

Pippy’s offers a relaxed yet modern dining experience, with crisp industrial elements of polished concrete and hexagonal tiles, softened with warm timber and caramel leatherette banquette seating. Lift your gaze for a whimsical touch - a charcoal mural hand-drawn on the ceiling by award-winning international artist, Miriam Innes - featuring swimming koi fish with stunning realism.

This pocket of Thorneside has, until now, been missing a quality takeaway offering. Pippy fulfils this need with simplicity and flair. Takeaway choices include fish of the day, prawns by the kilo, and the delicious and convenient ‘fish cornetto’, combining seafood, salad and chips in an easy-to-hold cone.
From sourcing the best and freshest local catch to the café's warm, friendly service, Pippy is all about community connections, great hospitality and good times. It’s something locals won’t be surprised to learn, as the café is sister to the immensely popular Blue Tongue Pantry, located right next door: a duo that is primed to make quite a statement on the bayside dining scene.
