Enlivening the historic police barracks with its stencil art walls and lantern lit courtyard, Peasant Spanish Restaurant is a well-establsihed fixture in The Barracks dining scene.

Tapas at Peasant include versions of classics such as Patatas Bravas, Baby Sweet Peppers char-grilled with capers, Empanadas and Croquetas with mushroom and gruyere, ranging up to full Charcuterie Boards with 18 month Serrano and aged Manchego cheese.

Meantime a small selection of Mains to share includes Rustic Spanihs Meatballs with salsa roja and Seafood Zarzuela with mussels, barramundi, clams. prawns and chorizo.

On the Dessert list are staples such as Vanilla Crema Catalina and Churros with Chocolate Syrup along with regional variations like Basque Country Burnt Oranage Cheesecake.

The wine list by and large hails from Spain, Portugal and Argentina or try the Sangria, the perfect accompaniment to dinner.
