Motorwagen

Brisbane CBD

Motorwagen is a stunning contemporary cafe, restaurant and bar found in Brisbane’s CBD, offering a refined dining experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This sophisticated city eatery features a striking, industrial chic fit-out – think exposed brick and concrete. Customers can dine al fresco on the terrace overlooking Adelaide Street or in the stylish dining room with burnt orange banquette seating.

Start your lunch or dinner with garlic choux bread with chive butter, spring asparagus and brown miso tahini, or roo tenderloin with smoked and fermented blueberries that will leave you wanting more. For a mouth-watering main dish, dive into Chef's lamb rump served with caramelized yoghurt and leek rolled shoulder.

If you're just in for a quick lunch, you can order one of Motorwagen's 'classics' like the Wagen burger with Chef's ground pattie and scamozza cheese, Southern-fried chicken burger with ranch, or a juicy Black Angus steak sandwich on rye.

Meanwhile, breakfast fare on offer is simple and well executed - think avocado on rye, egg and bacon breaky burger, eggs scrambled, poached or fried with house-made sourdough - served along with Motorwagen granola and whipped coconut yoghurt or Eggs Benzy (poached eggs on sourdough with brown butter hollandaise and your choice of bacon or gin-cured salmon).

Boasting Brisbane’s first state-of-the-art Modbar espresso and pour-over system by La Marzocco, Motorwagen offers locally roasted Wolff Coffee. Otherwise, there are specialty lattes, organic loose leaf teas, classic fruit juices and kombucha.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, the exquisite dinner menu includes delicious entrees such as spring asparagus with brown miso tahini, and roo tenderloin with smoked and fermented blueberries; while main dishes range from lamb rump with caramelized yoghurt and leek rolled shoulder, and sirloin with cassava and carrot puree, to Fraser Island spanner crab risotto, and roasted quail with tamarillo salsa and mole sauce.

The divine dessert list includes pineapple semifreddo with dark rum coconut caramel, and mocha tart with orange gelato and popcorn. Otherwise, savour a selection of Australian and international artisan cheeses with wattle seed lavosh and preserves.

Motorwagen is fully-licensed with local craft beer on tap, a carefully curated wine list, and classic cocktails.

Good to know – A private dining room is available for functions and private events with vintage-inspired Mercedes-Benz murals painted by a local artist.
