Coffeesmiths Espresso is a hole-in-the-wall café found in an old shopping strip on the corner of Granard and Beatty Roads in Rocklea.
Open early every weekday, punters can pick up their daily brew on the way to work or pull up a stool on the footpath. Elixir coffee is on pour and cups of espresso can be ordered with 2, 3 or 5 shots.
There’s a small selection of home baked treats on hand like spinach and feta muffins, white chocolate and raspberry muffins, and old-fashioned deep dish apple pie. Or pick up some Kingaroy peanuts or giant marshmallows to take on the road.
Besides coffee, the café stocks boutique, loose leaf tea, hand blended on the Sunny Coast by Sunshine Tea. Cold drinks include iced Italian lattes, American sodas such as Dr Pepper and Hank’s root beer and NZ L&P lemonade.
Nice to know – Starting Saturday, February 25, Coffeesmiths and 3 Red Bikes vintage shop will team up to run the Retro Rocklea Village Market. Held in the café’s parking lot, customers can browse vintage bargains with coffee and snacks available all day from 6 ‘til 4. The market will take place on the last Saturday of each month.
