Doppio

Doppio is an endearing coffee station in the hub of Brisbane CBD, presumably named after the double shot espresso extracted using a double coffee filter in the portafilter.

Surrounding itself advertising culture, Doppio stands out from the walkway out front the Myer Centre with both a cabinet and seat hand painted with old cola, beer and 25c strawberry signs.

The white panelled tables are mixed with black and white chairs that allow the pop art to truly ‘pop.’ Each diner is treated to a single flower in a small vase or a herb pot growing fresh basil that can be picked and placed right on to the plate.

Doppio is suitable for the busy worker in need of a quick gourmet sandwich or the people-watcher who enjoys sitting in peace while others hurry on by.

The menu is hung above each table and plastered with chalk on the blackboard for all to see the great value (most items under an easy $10!), making it quick and convenient. 

The sweet and friendly staff are happy to wrap up your Halloumi Wrap for takeaway or bring it out to your table where you can sit and enjoy a moment of rest. Other delights include the beef pie that comes straight from Spoon Café each morning, their famous B.L.A.T packed with fresh ingredients and a side of tomato relish and the Avo Toast.

Specialities include the Bruschetta (where else in Brisbane’s CBD can you grab this as a quick lunch or snack?!) and the orange juice that is hand squeezed by the manager each morning.
