Medley KP

Kangaroo Point

Medley KP commands a prime riverfront position at Kangaroo Point, nestled in the exclusive history-laden Yungaba enclave alongside the Story Bridge.

The contemporary open plan eatery with 2 level terraced deck makes the most of the stunning views across to the Howard Smith wharves, Brisbane River Walk and New Farm cliffs and is an unbeatable spot to catch some warm morning rays in winter or cool river breezes in summer.

Open for breakfast and lunch daily, and for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, the international menu (which offers both light or substantial dishes) takes its inspiration from the history of the area. The grand heritage-listed building Yungaba, which has been converted into luxury apartments, was the first point of call for migrants from 1887 through to post World War II when it was a reception and training centre for European migrants.

Start the day with a home-made banana bread, Medley house-made muesli or fresh-baked pastry from Crust and Co or one of their popular breakfast dishes. Choices include Bellissimo Avocado (cherry tomato & bocconcini Caprese salad and smashed avocado on toasted sourdough); Eggs Ratatouille (slow-cooked vegetable ragout, sauteed garlic & tomato salsa, bocconcini, free-range eggs and pesto with toasted sourdough) or Blue Swimmer Crab Omelette (with spring onions, bean sprouts and Asian sweet & sour chilli sauce with toasted sourdough).

For lunch, try the prawn ceviche or pacific crab cake for starters and take a trip around the world with the mains, which include Beef Vindaloo, Middle-east Lamb Cutlets with tabouleh salad and tzatziki, Swordfish Pizzaiola or Tequila Caribbean Chicken with baby corn, rice and tequila, tabasco & lime salsa.

To accompany there's a range of beers and ciders (local and international), and wines including Italian prosecco, French rose and Argentinian Malbec.

Nice to know - There's also a small kids menu for breakfast (ham & cheese croissant, toasted banana bread or scrambled eggs, bacon & sour dough toast) and lunch (penne pasta bolognese or fish with tomato sauce and side of vegetables). It’s also a great place for mums with prams to catch up, with plenty of space between tables and accessible waterfront paths leading to parking.

Need to  know - There’s a council car park on Wharf St which usually has plenty of spots otherwise there’s multi-hour metered street parking around Wharf St and down near Captain Burke Park under the bridge. Medley is pet friendly, with dogs welcome to join their owners on the deck.
