Flute Fine Food

Coorparoo

As far as great places to eat breakfast in Brisbane go, Flute at Coorparoo would have to be up there with the best in the east. And locals are well aware they have a little gem in their backyard which means that the queues on weekends (when no bookings are taken) can get a little lengthy.

Still this is fare worth waiting for, with stand out dishes the Flute signature breakfast - a generous serve of eggs, crispy smoked bacon, roasted tomato, handmade potato cakes, Hollandaise sauce and perfectly toasted Turkish pide – and the Greek breakfast – a roll your own affair of pita bread, melt in the mouth panfried haloumi, Greek salad and eggs.

Other options include berry pancakes, smoked salmon omelettes and avo on toast and to accompany there's Segafredo coffee, delish smoothies and hot chocolates.

The cafe itself is a sleek dark chocolate and cream toned affair inside, with the majority of seating outside in a canvas curtain enclosed terrace.

Flute is also a popular lunch spot and although we didn't try it, the menu included dishes such as lasagne, slow roasted pork belly and chicken tortillas.

Worth noting: Friday mornings are also peak hour for breakfast. Although the prices seem steep the portions are very generous as well as being delicious.
