Dinner at Neesh Bar
Take a seat in the front room with its original bay windows, pressed metal bar and tea-candlelit tables or out back in the cosy covered courtyard and get set for a real culinary treat.
The food at Neesh is bordering on fine dining quality at cafe prices, with a chef's banquet menu of seven dishes for just $39pp, while most of the eclectic a la carte menu is designed to share, with all dishes coming in generous portion sizes.
Start with some melt-in-the-mouth chargrilled lemongrass calamari, served with an Asian style salad of fresh market greens, pickled fennel, grapefruit, chilli and house lemon dressing or artichoke arancini with parmesan cream and dill or spiced pakora (turmeric cauliflower, onion, herbs, chilli and cucumber labneh).
Also highly recommended are the duck pancakes, heavenly KFC (Korean fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce, sesame, crispy shallots and aioli) and the Char Sui pork belly bao buns (with pickled veges, srirarcha, coriander, chilli and sesame).
For mains there are market fish and chips, woodfire roasted eggplant, chargrilled steaks or spatchcock chicken, or, for something more casual Neesh Bar do a cracking range of gourmet woodfired pizzas with toppings like Peri Peri chicken, Hoisin Duck, Duo Mushroom or BBQ Pulled pork.
And for something sweet, try one of their delectable desserts like lime and ricotta cheesecake, house chocolate brownie or cinnamon dusted churros with chocolate ganache and chantilly cream.
And if you'd like to kick off the evening with a cocktail, choose from an Elderflower Collins, Blueberry Mojito, Bahamas Lychee or Aperol Spritz. There are also jugs or sangria, tropical punch and Pimms to share as well as craft beers and a small selection of quality wines.
