Nudgee Off Leash Dog Beach Park

NOTE - AS OF NOV 30, 2020 NUDGEE BEACH IS OFF LIMITS TO DOGS AND THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWED OFF LEASH WITHIN THE FENCED PARK.

A slice of dog and bird heaven, Nudgee Beach is a tiny hamlet of beach shacks, family homes and a general store surrounded by wetlands, waterways and briny beaches.

Immediately adjacent to the beach is a picnic area and sizeable off-leash park containing a range of obstacles to keep dogs dried off and entertained once they’ve finished frolicking in the sea.

Two things worth noting - there are no public toilets in the vicinity, with the nearest being around on the seafront human-only Nudgee Beach proper (accessed by Fortitude St). Secondly ensure dogs remain in the designated area and don’t venture into the mangrove bird hides adjacent for both environmental and financial reasons – rangers regularly police the area, issuing on-the-spot fines to the disobedient.

The entrance to the doggie area is on the right heading into the township, about 100m past the entrance to the Boondall Wetlands (which is on the left).
