Wilburs General Store

Holland Park

Wilburs General Store is a suburban gem in Holland Park providing expertly brewed coffee, along with gourmet sandwiches, delicious sweet treats and artisan pantry items.

The one-time corner lolly shop, located opposite Holland Park State School, is now a coffee haunt for lucky locals offering well-brewed cups of Elixir coffee, blend and single origin, as well as loose leaf teas by T.T.C, Prana chai, hot chocolate, frappes, smoothies, fresh fruit juices, and Karma organic sodas.

Wilburs offers a few breakfast options including the highly-recommend bacon and egg banh mi with chilli jam, coriander and fresh chill on Vietnamese baguette. Alternatively, there's a spicy fried mushroom banh mi with soft fried egg, or smashed avocado on thick cut sourdough with Persian feta, Mount Zero dukkah and pomegranate seeds.

Meanwhile, the display case is crammed with fresh, house-made deli sandwiches and baguettes, ready to grab and go, with scrumptious fillings like pumpkin and ricotta with hazelnut mint pesto; chicken, avocado and cheddar; turkey, brie and onion jam; or rare roast beef, apple slaw and Swiss cheese. All breads and baguettes are supplied by local bakery Danny's Bread.

Nestled next to the sandwiches, is a selection of freshly baked sweet treats supplied by Floss Bakes and Annie Loves Cakes - think orange and almond cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, rhubarb and lemon myrtle cakes, macadamia dark chocolate brownies, monte carlo and melting moments biscuits, and Black Forest bundt cakes.

More than a cafe, Wilburs is also a local larder offering a range of pantry items, from eggs and milk (dairy and plant-based) to Australian artisanal products including Brisbane's Bee One Third honey, Ugly Food shallot relish and achar (pickled vegetables) and fermented hot sauces by Sidepiece Condiment Co.

Plus Crunch Preserves (beetroot & plum chutney or fig & szechuan pepper jam), Cutaway Creek jams (blackberry, rhubarb & ginger, 3 fruit marmalade), Church Farm Indian homestyle curry paste, Mount Zero natural salt, Brookfarm Power Porrij, Irrewarra natural granola, and bags of mixed lollies, Snakes, Fantails and chocolate Freckles (a sweet nod to the corner store's past life).
