The Stewards Pantry is a charming cafe found in the racing precinct of Hendra, with a relaxed friendly atmosphere and a tempting range of fresh and delicious treats made to order.

This delightful colonial-styled cafe on Nudgee Road is community based, already accumulating a healthy number of regular customers. With seating both inside and out on a patch of lawn, this casual cafe is also welcoming to fur babies and children.

A tasty selection of fare is on offer for breakfast and brunch from Tuesday to Sunday. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a cabinet full of scrumptious treats to choose from such as Portuguese tarts, raspberry pistachio delice and amazing carrot cake. Coffee on pour is Tazzina by Seven Miles, the perfect accompaniment to one of the cafe's delicious sweet treats.  

The Stewards Pantry serves up breakfast and lunch boasting favourites from the quintessential Brekkie Burger - a lightly toasted milk bun with bacon, egg and cheese and a house blend marmalade - or fresh muesli bowl topped with seasonal fruit; while lunch options include a classic chicken caesar and vegetarian spring rolls. The cafe's Cajun chips or sweet potato fries are a must try.

Every Friday night is Burger Night from 5-8 pm, boasting a brilliant range of juicy burgers. With an ever changing menu, some items have a Cajun and Creole flavour like The Big Easy (deep fried chicken with lettuce, pear slaw, cheese and smokey chilli mayo) and Huck Finn (beer-battered whiting fillets with lettuce, tomato, carrot and tartare sauce).

For meat lovers, there's Jerry's Burger (double beef patty, bacon, jalapeños, double cheese, smokey mayo and marmalade) while vegetarians can tuck into Bodhi Zaffa - vegetarian patty, lettuce, tomato and carrot with vegan mayo. Gluten free buns are also available. Other popular items on offer are Prawn Tacos and Beef Nachos. 

Just like its namesake, the steward of this quaint cafe, Jerry, has overseen all aspects to ensure an inexpensive and relaxed dining experience for families, friends and couples alike.

The Stewards Pantry is planning to expand the outdoor dining area and get a liquor licence in the near future.

Nice to know - Owner Jerry also has a food van called The Dapper and Chic with a strong focus on New Orleans cuisine.
