State Library, Summer Holiday Fun

State Library's Summer Holiday Fun program will be delivered in two phases: starting with a condensed pre-Christmas Summer "taste tester" weekend (from 16-18 December), before the full Summer Holiday Fun program kicks off in the New Year (from 6-15 January). So get crafting, creating and collaborating in activities for children aged 0-12.

SLQ Summer Holiday Fun

Highlights include:

  • Make a travel journal: record your special summer memories 
  • Make a musical instrument: Start the family band by crafting an instrument using every day, recyclable materials
  • Hand stamp your own tea towel: Be inspired by Queensland to a T and create a hand stamped tea towel to add to your family memorabilia 
  • Play at The Corner: Drop into The Corner and play all day, the perfect activity for under 5s
  • Enjoy incredible performances and workshops in kuril dhagun. Say hello to Murri Claus or learn all about Torres Strait Islander weaving practices with Uncle Brian Whap

Looking for adventure but can't make it to the State Library? You can join the fun from home and tune in to the Library's Summer Fun Creator series online every Thursday and Saturday morning at 10am, from 15 December 2022 to 7 January 2023.
