Side By Side: A Musical Two's Company

Concert Hall Qpac

Get ready to be serenaded with some great duets courtesy of Queensland Pops Orchestra’s new show titled Side By Side: A Musical Two’s Company.

The orchestra is one of our state’s finest and most popular, with its emphasis on accessible music that everyone can enjoy. This will come alive with Side By Side: A Musical Two’s Company, with a program devised by Maestro Patrick Pickett CSM.

Headlining this first concert of the 2017 series is Carols By Candlelight favourite, Silvie Paladino, whose impressive list of stage musical credits include Les Miserables in both Australia and London’s West End, Silvie Paladino Sings Streisand (receiving a Green Room Award nomination), Mama Mia!, Cats, and an upcoming stint in Jerry’s Girls.

Paladino will be matched with Brisbane’s very own singer extraordinaire, Thomas Armstrong-Robley, a Queensland Conservatorium graduate making a splash both here and internationally. English-born Armstrong-Robley appeared in last year’s Rhonda Burchmore on Broadway concerts and had lead roles in a few of the Conservatorium’s productions. Among his other numerous accomplishments, he’s also the creator and lead vocalist for World On A String: A Live Tribute To Michael Bublé.

As if that isn’t enough superb talent on stage, there’s also winner of the Lev Vlasenko Piano Competition (2015) Ayesha Gough, who’ll play at the concert as part of her prize.

So, be part of this celebratory showcase of delectable duets with a wonderful afternoon that we’re promised will make us swing and swoon in equal measure!
