The QUBE Effect 2024: People's Choice Awards

Brisbane music fans can show their support for local artists by voting for their favourite music video in Brisbane City Council’s The QUBE Effect 2024 People’s Choice Award.

18 finalists are part of the program this year, having worked with industry professionals to develop skills including the production of their own music videos. Finalists are also provided with mentoring opportunities with the likes of Bernard Fanning, John Collins (JC), Nat Dunn, and Fred Leone to learn valuable industrial knowledge.

The winner of The QUBE Effect 2024 People’s Choice Award will receive prizes including vouchers, a video shoot, and a promotional pack at an awards ceremony on 19 August 2024 at The Triffid.

Winners in the following categories will be announced at the 2024 Award ceremony:

  • Innovation Award 

  • QUBE Development Award

  • Original Song Award

  • Lord Mayor’s Live Event Award

  • People’s Choice Award

This year’s The QUBE Effect finalists kicked off Youth Week with a free, live performance at What’s Golden at The Tivoli on Sunday, April 7.

A total of 311 young and emerging musical acts have taken part in the program since it began. Previous finalists have gone on to perform at BIGSOUND, Splendour in the Grass, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Laneway Festival.

The QUBE Effect alumni has also gone on to tour national and international stages as support acts to major artists or on their own headline tours. It’s all part of Brisbane City Council’s commitment to support local artists to encourage more to see and do and make Brisbane’s lifestyle even better.

The QUBE Effect People’s Choice Award voting opens Monday, July 1 and closes Wednesday, July 31. Winners of The QUBE Effect 2024 will be announced at an awards ceremony on Monday, August 19 at the Triffid.
