The QUBE Effect People's Choice Award 2023 is your chance to vote for your favourite new Brisbane singer, songwriter, muso or band, with voting open from March 29 until April 28.

And Brisbane music fans now have the chance to vote for their favourite music video to win the People’s Choice Award as part of Brisbane City Council’s The QUBE Effect program, with each of the 23 finalists filming a professional music video.

The QUBE Effect, Evangie

The QUBE Effect is a nine-month music development program for young, emerging musicians, designed to develop their skills, have live performance opportunities, make incredible industry connections, and film their own music video.

The innovative, contemporary music program provides 23 local acts a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to network with and be mentored by some of Brisbane's most influential music industry experts.

The QUBE Effect, Maisy Taylor

Bernard Fanning, Ian Haug and JC from Powderfinger, multi-Golden Guitar Award winner Troy Cassar-Daley and former The QUBE Effect alum Hope D were all on board this year to help guide Brisbane's music stars of the future.

"The music industry is traditionally one that is difficult for young players to navigate" Bernard Fanning said. "For people already established in the industry it provides an avenue to provide tips on the development of the artists videos, live performance and songwriting".

The QUBE Effect, Allora

Music fans can catch The QUBE Effect 2023 finalists performing live at The Triffid on Sunday, April 16 in a free, all-ages event for Brisbane Youth Week.

The People’s Choice Award is awarded to the song that receives the most public votes for its original music video, submitted via Brisbane City Council’s website and is one of five awards given out to participants at the end of the nine-month program.

The QUBE Effect, Flag Duty

The QUBE Effect People’s Choice Award voting opens Wednesday, March 29 and closes Friday, April 28. Winners of The QUBE Effect 2023 will be announced at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 23.
