THE OTHER SUPPER CLUB HAS CLOSED.

Behind the brick facade of the Coronation Hotel in West Ipswich sits The Other Supper Club - a hidden gem that serves what is arguably Ipswich’s best steak.

Originally a bar connected to the main hotel, it has been transformed into what feels like a secret little hideaway for the lucky people that know about it. Its walls are lined with pages from books, there’s an eclectic mix of decor and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, it’s almost like being back in the days of prohibition.

The name ‘The Other’ came from the idea of a pub being ‘the other office’ when it was time to finish work and have a drink. ‘Supper Club’ represents the fact that you can come here to only eat dessert if you like or to drink frappes, fresh juices, for coffee, lunch or dinner. 

Chef Nathan is the person responsible for the mouth watering food here at The Other Supper Club. Nathan prides himself on sourcing the best quality local produce and making everything from scratch, including sauces and desserts. And this is one of the reasons the food here is brilliant, you can taste the goodness that is homemade, it’s more than just pub food.

For those who crave a perfect steak, this is the place - not only does Nathan source the best quality steak, he cooks it to perfection, resulting in a ‘melt in the mouth’ experience and flavours that go hand in hand.

The Other Supper Club’s menu changes each fortnight giving its diners the opportunity to try one of Nathan’s newest creations. There’s always steak on the menu, along with dishes including fresh crumbed Australian snapper for dinner.  The lunch menu is generous with options like a traditional fillet steak sandwich with onion and tomato jam, salad and chips or fettuccine for the pasta lovers.  There’s also a reasonable wine list available along with beer and spirits. 

And diners should do themselves a favour by trying a dessert. Recommended is the chocolate and almond brownie with its gooey chocolate and sweet candied almonds.

In a nutshell-  It looks like a little hole in the wall from the road, but The Other Supper Club is one of Ipswich's best.
