Ortiga Restaurant

Fortitude Valley

ORTIGA RESTAURANT HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS OF NOV 2013.

Upstairs the menu ($3-$20)is light and flavoursome, featuring stuffed pimientos, pizza topped with spreadable Balearic sausage, cheeses, luscious olive skewers and baby gem lettuce with anchovies and drizzled with Valdeon blue cheese dressing.

Downstairs is about share plates of Spanish nouvelle cuisine supplemented by carefully selected Spanish global and local varieties of wine. From the freshly shucked oysters in shallots and sherry vinegar ($4.50) to the crescendo – the aged rib eye fillet with potatoes and salad (for 2 at $135) the menu also runs the gamut from croquetas and a fine selection of Jamones (Serrano and Iberico) to the must haves such as slow cooked duck breast or suckling pig with pumpkin and sage.
