Than Nuong Vietnamese Restaurant & Bar

Woolloongabba

UDPATED: THIS RESTAURANT HAS NOW CLOSED.

Than Nuong Vietnamese Restaurant & Bar is cooking up bona fide Vietnamese charcoal dishes in their ambient restaurant in Woolloongabba.

The alfresco-style restaurant is lit up with traditional lanterns, artworks and plenty of colour. The restaurant can cater for both large and small groups of diners.

The menu is laden with authentic, Vietnamese dishes, with a heavy focus, of course, on their charcoal-cooked meats. Their Wagyu beef is a must-do, it practically melts in your mouth.

Than Nuong has two delicious banquet options available for diners. One of the banquets starts with classic vegetarian spring rolls, which are served with dipping sauce.

Than Nuong creates delicious scallops, too, which are topped with a Vietnamese-flavoured crumb.

The soft-shell crab is another must-try on the banquet, marinated in Than Nuong’s special sauce and served on a prawn cracker.

The DIY rice paper rolls are the highlight of the banquet and a popular order at Than Nuong. The do-it-yourself aspect makes it a fun dish to enjoy with family and friends, reflective of traditional family dining in Vietnam.

The lemongrass chicken and betel leaf beef are two charcoal meats that are definitely worth a try when choosing between the charcoal dishes.

Than Nuong creates some amazing desserts, too, such as apple crumble, raspberry and frangipani tart, passionfruit slice and strawberry tea cake. All of the desserts are served with the most delicious, secret recipe crumb, made fresh in-house.

It's a great idea to end your banquet the traditional way, with a taste of Umeshi, authentic plum wine.

Than Nuong serves traditional Vietnamese coffee and an array of Vietnamese beers, wine, cider and soft drinks.
