Brisbane’s summer season of movies under the stars continues with Moonlight Cinema in the stunning setting of New Farm Park with the Brisbane Powerhouse as backdrop.

Moonlight Cinema may not be free but it’s a very civilized way to see the latest popular, art house, retro and family-friendly movies with the option of packing a picnic or grabbing some of the onsite gourmet street food and drinks from the bar.

Lighting up the screen this summer are hits The Disaster Artist, Three Billboards Outside Mississippi, Starwars -the Last Jedi, The Post; I,Tonya and All The Money in the World, along with family-friendly Coco, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Paddington 2 with some fun, retro classics such as Back to the Future, Spice World and Grease (sing-a-long) thrown in the mix.

And on Australia Day new true blue Aussie movie The BBQ will have a special screening.

Onsite catering is the perfect movie accompaniment with a menu that includes Beef or Vegetarian Nachos, Crispy Salt & Pepper Squid, 'New Yorker' Chilli Cheese Dog, Sliders (LA style Cheeseburger or Southern Fried Chicken), Margherita Calzone, Skin on French Fries, and Spanish Street Churros.

There’s also an in-house candy bar peddling Connoisseur ice-cream, choc tops and Cadbury chocolates as well as a handful of snacks such as Red Rock Deli chips, Twisties and caramel popcorn.

From the bar list choose from the usual soft drinks as well as a mini boutique beer and wine selection.

Movie-goers can also take the option of upgrading to a bean bed in the Conoisseur Lounge for $30.

Need to know: Patrons can bring their own food but BYO alcohol is not permitted as this is a licensed venue.

Nice to know - Moonlight Cinema is dog-friendly with well-behaved pooches on leash welcome in all areas.
