Luminous Lantern Parade

LUMINOUS Lantern Parade, Queensland's most iconic celebration of multiculturalism, will light up South Bank on Friday 10 June, 2022, from 6-8pm.

The mammoth parade, now in its 15th year, forms part of an immersive program of events right across Queensland to celebrate Queensland Day.

The larger-than-life Lantern Parade is a free event for all Queenslanders to attend, with the spectacular lantern procession starting at Flowstate at South Bank Parklands and ending with a vibrant World Music concert in South Bank Piazza.

LUMINOUS 2022 will feature its traditional array of beautiful lanterns including a koala, owl, giraffe, clownfish, kangaroo, elephant, lion and rainbow serpent, along with characters such as Alice in Wonderland, and iconic Brisbane landmarks including the Story Bridge and City Hall.

Indigenous elders, migrant and refugee communities, service providers, education and training providers, church organisations, schools, various stakeholder groups and the wider community also walk in the Parade or participate in a range of LUMINOUS satellite events.

Good to know - As well as the South Bank festivities, LUMINOUS in the Neighbourhood will be coming to Brisbane, Toowoomba and Rockhampton.
