Lucky and The Flight of the Sky Puppies
Brisbane Powerhouse
Lucky and The Flight of the Sky Puppies is a heartwarming and comical tale that follows the adventures of a small speckled Flying Fox named Lucky, playing at Brisbane Powerhouse from July 4-6.
Using puppetry, animation, song and the exceptional talents of actors Benjin Maza, Mark Sheppard and Agnes Ahwang-Bani this touching story of family, home, dispersal and friendship is set to delight young audiences this winter school holiday.
From the creatives of Othello and My Name is Jimi and directed by the award-winning Jason Klarwein, this hilarious and touching tale is brought to life with song, puppetry and animated magic.
After falling from his tree outside the Cairns Library, Lucky finds himself lost and alone. However, he is not without hope, as he quickly forms an unlikely alliance with a group of eccentric locals.
The first member of Lucky's motley crew is a Pelican on Parole, who brings a unique perspective and wisdom to the group. Next, there is Pepe, an Italian Puppy with a vibrant personality and a knack for problem-solving.
Alongside them is Chad, a narcissistic Cassowary, who adds a touch of humour and charisma to the mix. And last but not least, there is the Homeless Bin Chicken, an Ibis who, despite its less-than-ideal circumstances, proves to be resourceful and resilient.
Together, this unusual ensemble embarks on an epic journey to help Lucky find his way back home. Throughout their adventure, they encounter challenges, obstacles, and moments of self-discovery.
Lucky's journey home is not only a hilarious and visually captivating adventure but also a celebration of the power of unity and determination. It reminds us that even the most unlikely of friendships can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
