The Brisbane Lantern Festival (Laternenfest), a significant event on the Brisbane German cultural calendar, is coming to Kangaroo Point on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
This event is now sold out - the organizers look forward to welcoming you to a bigger, better and brighter Laternenfest in 2024. Thank you for your support.
Laternenfest 2023 will include live German music, lantern making competitions (for both young and young at heart), face painting, raffles, prizes and more.
It's a fantastic family afternoon/evening outing celebrating all things German including great Bavarian food like giant pretzels and Black Forest cake.
And after the sun has set, you can put those newly made lanterns to use with the famous lantern parade.
Laternenfest is the primary annual fundraiser for the Brisbane German Language School (BGLS), a community organisation which prides itself on promoting the culture and language of German speaking countries.
This is a ticketed event so secure your tickets now to avoid disappointment.
