Holloway Restaurant
West End
HOLLOWAY RESTAURANT HAS MORPHED INTO LUIG!'S ITALIAN.
Holloway restaurant is the latest offering from creative compulsives, Raffaele Persichetti and Martin Brown; the boys behind Holloway eyewear and custom watches crafted from recycled, reclaimed and salvaged timber.
Located on Hardgrave Road in the historic Rialto Theatre strip, Holloway has been hand crafted from floor - a stunning natural stone and native timber mosaic - to ceiling with custom made lampshades casting atmospheric shadows on the walls – featuring wonderful artwork by artist in residence Kizan Kakinuma.
Equally adept at creating world-fusion fare, the seasonally changing menu at Holloway is short and sweet with 3 entrees, 3 mains and 3 desserts offered each eve.
Inspired by cuisine from the Mediterranean to Malaysia, the menu might include aubergine parmigiana, Caprese salad, Sumatran rendang, duck ravioli or Romano pizza; while the daily dessert list could contain Sicilian ricotta torte, traditional tiramisu or Mandarin marshmallow mousse (made using a secret family recipe).
Open for breakfast Thursday through Sunday, fresh juice and fair trade, organic coffee is on offer alongside the likes of Turkish and Tuscan eggs, Japanese mix-up or sago kaya crumpets.
*Things to Note: the Holloway crew is still creating timber eyewear and watches in their cellar studio beneath the restaurant.
