After experiencing the tragic loss of her stepdaughter in 2017, Bobbie Jones left her corporate career to pursue healing and purpose, finding it in her passion for art.

“Time in nature allows us to reflect, observe and appreciate symbols and messages that we are too busy to notice in our daily lives. This country is incredibly unique and spiritual which is what I have tried to capture through these images, “said Bobbie.

The Gates project took Bobbie along 6,000 kilometres of Australian roadway that many never travel to capture an artistic insight into 'gates' and their silent stories. Over 100 quintessentially Australian gates tell a story of culture, function, art and power in this thought-provoking exhibition.

GATES will be exhibited at the historic Dayboro Butter Factory in Dayboro, a quaint town in the Moreton Bay region, 45 minutes drive from Brisbane. The Dayboro Butter Factory started operations in 1892 and was later destroyed by fire in 1929. The factory at 38 Williams St, Dayboro was rebuilt and opened a year later in 1930 before it closed permanently in 1965.

The historic Industrial building is now home to local businesses, including The Churn Room, an art space and retail store for a multi-faceted artisan community, including Bobbie's fine art business - Robyn Darling Images.

Nice to know - Dayboro is a favourite destination for lovers of arts and culture, car and motorcycle clubs, weekend country drives, and adventurers. The charming village might be small in size, but it’s big in character with an array of cafes, art, antiques, gift shops, and historical buildings.
