Festival 2018

Brisbane

Take the plunge into Festival 2018 ! 12 days of free music, dance, comedy, markets, theatre, and art to celebrate the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games right here in Brisbane, from 4 to 15 April.

Be part of this once-in-a-generation event with 200 events and more than 900 performers, guaranteed to delight all ages.

For the family

Take the children to a series of hands-on workshops as well as live theatre and performances. Catch ABC TV’s best friends, Sally and Possum in Sally and Possum Live, as they explore, discover and learn about the world around them using Auslan sign language. Be enchanted by The Owl and the Pussycat which melds together puppetry and music, and discover a land from long ago in Megafauna where giant puppets of ancient Australian mammals make their way along the Brisbane River.

You can also bask in the autumn sun while you explore the BNE DESIGN markets during Festival 2018. Take home homewares, fashion, ceramics, stationary, accessories and jewellery or get creative and make your own in hands-on workshops with local artists.

Indie Music Lovers

If there is one day for music lovers not to miss during Festival 2018 it is Saturday 14 April. Catch the next generation of home-grown talent who are taking Australian music to the world including Alex the Astronaut, Major Leagues, Morning Harvey, Stella Donnelly, The Creases and The Preatures all for FREE!

For the young at heart

Celebrate Australian music with a massive line up of musical icons across the 12 days including Archie Roach, Bob Evans, Coloured Stone, Don Walker and Regurgitator.

In a nutshell - Festival 2018 is the perfect opportunity to experience and celebrate all Brisbane has to offer – make sure you don’t miss a minute.

Nice to know - Festival 2018 is presented by The Star Gold Coast, produced by Brisbane City Council and supported by Queensland Government.
