Vintage lovers can experience all the fun of the fair - The Collectorville Fair that is – on Sunday 21st in the quaint yesteryear surrounds of Rocklea Showgrounds.

A flashback to the times when Sundays were fun days, the once-a-year-day fair is a must visit for antique, vintage and retro lovers as dealers, hoarders and collectors from across Queensland gather to peddle their amazing wares.

Treasure hunters can rummage and browse to their fluttering heart’s content through hectares of antiques, bric-a-brac, curios, ephemera, collectibles as well as an entire splendiferous Fashion Pavilion.

A myriad of stalls will be selling everything from automobilia, vinyl records, retro fabric, fine china and kitchenware to gramophones, jewellery, cameras, clocks, advertising ephemera, toys, games, prints and even farm tools.

Amongst the esteemed stall-holders are the Pedal Guy who was featured on the ABC’s Collectors program, Dietrich’s Gramophones and Glass from the Past, suppliers of vintage bottles, medicine pots and stone bottles to bars, cafes, stylists and theatre and film sets such as the Great Gatsby.

And those looking to revamp their wardrobes will find 35 glorious stalls of old world finery, art deco and kitschy unique pieces from Victoriana to the 1980s in the Fashion Pavilion. Here you’ll happen across whimsical day dresses, beautiful ball gowns, exquisite evening wear and glamorous accessories, classic handbags, lingerie, hats and hat boxes and Bakelite baubles, bangles and beads, as well as perfume bottles, sunglasses and a trunk load of vintage gear for dapper chaps.

Children can even get in on the vintage act too, thanks to stall-holders like My Vintage Childhood and their range of nostalgic children’s clothes, toys games and nursery décor.

Meantime retro crafty types can pick up some classic dress patterns, buttons, French linens and vintage fabrics and whip up a blast from the blast on the trusty ol’ Singer sewing machine.

And while the shopping is a trip down memory lane, the coffee, food and drinks served at Collectorville are boutique, delicious and up-to-the-minute.

Indeed treasure hunters will be spoilt for choice when it comes to brunch and lunch, with a fabulous array of street food stalls and trucks peddling global cuisines, such as Juan More Taco (look out for the vintage bus) and Neko Sushi as well as sweet treats, beer and wine.

In a nutshell: Put this one on the calendar now - it’s Brisbane’s Big Day Out for vintage, antique and retro lovers.
