Coal Miner's Daughter
Redland Performing Arts Centre
Multi-awarded, look-alike songstress, Amber Joy Poulton, brings Coal Miner's Daughter - the mega-hits and stories of American country music singer and songwriter Loretta Lynn - to Redland Performing Arts Centre on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

The Coal Miner’s Daughter portrays the friendship of Loretta Lynn and her idol Patsy Cline, sparked by Lynn’s first hit, Honky Tonk Girl, which led to an invitation from the Grand Ole Opry and caught the attention of Cline.

Lynn's remarkable journey began with humble beginnings - married at 15, mother of four by 19, and a grandmother at 29. She achieved stardom at 25 and was rumoured to be in a relationship with Conway Twitty, speculation that endured until his passing in 1993. Their chemistry produced two of the best duets ever recorded, including Lead Me On and After The Fire Is Gone, along with 11 albums together and five number-one hits.

In the show heading to RPAC, Poulton is joined on stage by ‘friends’ Lizzie Moore as Patsy Cline and Denis Surmon as Conway Twitty, accompanied by The Holy Men in this sensational musical tribute to three legends of country music.

Weaving anecdotes and comedy throughout a catalogue of much-loved hits, including Don't Come Home A-Drinkin’ With Lovin' On Your Mind, I Fall To Pieces, You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man, Crazy, Silver Threads and Golden Needles, Walkin' After Midnight, You're Lookin' At Country, One's On The Way, Stand By Your Man, After The Fire Is Gone, and, of course Coal Miner’s Daughter, this is a show not to be missed!
With the recent passing of the great Loretta Lynn, there is no better time to celebrate her music!
