Belgian Beer Cafe Brussels

Brisbane

Updated: Nov 18, 2018

The Belgian Beer Cafe has closed as of Sept 2014 and set to re-open as the Buffalo Bar in late 2014.

Few things could be finer on a cool evening than snapping up a wooden booth inside the high-ceilinged heritage room of this ornate Victorian warehouse with its chandeliers and polished wooden floors and indulging in a traditional pot of marinated mussels. Especially when they’re accompanied by authentic frites with mayonnaise and washed down with Belgian beers. Or parmesean cheese croquettes with tomato fondue or braised beef and mushroom pie with frites…

Meantime those who’d prefer something lighter with their Hoegaarden or Chimay have an excellent choice including Assiette Belge (a charcuterie and cheese platter), Belgian style meatballs and Croque Monsieur among the reasonably priced offerings.

And not to be overlooked is the stylish stone – feature walled beer garden courtyard in which to sink a beer with a lively crowd on summer days or evenings.
