Art Of The Palate

Treasury Brisbane

Art of the Palate is a splendid evening of intimate dining and indulgent wine tasting paired with an insight into the works of local artists at Treasury Brisbane's The Lab Restaurant and Bar, and the next event falls on April 24, the eve of ANZAC Day public holiday.

Damien Anthony Rossi, Great Day Out presenter and much-loved Brisbane personality, will host the evening and brings to the table his 'playfully glamourous' personality and style as Treasury Brisbane's first Ambassador.

This month, guests will be treated to canapés and rosé on arrival, followed by a carefully-curated four-course modern Australian menu accompanied by a selection of superb and incredibly diverse hand-picked wines, all from Margaret River's Cape Mentelle label, and each introduced by non-other than Cape Mentelle Estate Director, Cameron Murphy.

Wine connoisseurs will be familiar with the many outstanding varietals Cape Mentelle offers, but for the novices, the winery was established in 1970 by Mark and David Hoehnen, and was one of the first Margaret River wineries, fundamentally cementing the region's reputation as one of the world's great areas for Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Today, Cape Mentelle is under the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey Group umbrella and continues to serves as a benchmark for quality wine, especially local staples Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, with some quality wines also seen from Shiraz, Sangiovese and Zinfandel.

The menu for this event offers tastes to suit every palate, with all ingredients locally-sourced, from the freshest of seafood to the most melt-in-your-mouth venison available. Through every course, guests are taken on a journey of flavours.

Brisbane-based emerging artist, Angela Wilson, is another of the guests of honour and Angela will be sharing the drive behind her painting style and what brings about the link by subject of her art - mainly marine and coastal influences such as oceans, rivers, shipwrecks and boats. You won't want to miss the chance to learn more about what makes this wonderful impressionist artist tick.

Nice to know - An exhibition featuring a number of Angela's stunning pieces will be exclusively on display throughout Ryan's On the Park and The Lab Restaurant & Bar during April. This is a fantastic opportunity to drop in to view and appreciate her work before you get to meet her in person at the dinner.

Nice to know - The event is on the eve of a public holiday, meaning you can relax and enjoy the evening without needing to think about heading to work the following morning.
