2022 International Cake Show Australia
Brisbane Showgrounds
The International Cake Show Australia is coming to the Brisbane Showgrounds for three massive days, like a sugar festival, edible art gallery and sweet-tooth expo combined under the one roof, from May 13-15, 2022.
Australia's only international standard cake, baking and sweet show brings together the Top Guns of cookie, cake and dessert world to show off their skills and share their talents with sweet loving foodies. And also to compete in arguably the greatest competition there is – the Ultimate Australian Cake and Cookie Decorating Competition, which everyone can enter!

Held across three fun filled days, International Cake Show Australia is a family friendly event that is part sugar party, part expo, and part food festival, with activities to cater for all ages, including face and body painting, roving live cake art, a 2m cake art installation, sweet street and food trucks.

There's also lots of opportunities for public participation including the donut smash down (donut eating competition), a cake decorating blind challenge, and cookie decorating blind challenge being held every day. Plus, there are a heap of giveaways and opportunities to snap a pic with one of the many mind-blowing huge sugar features, or with one of the many celebrity chefs you’ll catch wandering throughout the show.

A highlight will be a two-day, live, international cake-off challenge with Team Australia vs Team International on the main stage. This fiercely competitive contest features six of the world’s most famous extreme cake artists including Chef Serdar Yener (master cake sculptor), Dorothy Klerck who specialises in life-size animal sculptures (South Africa), Molly Robbins extreme cake sculptor and TV personality (UK), Paul Delaney - extreme caker, CakeFlix personality Paul Bradford (Scotland), Verusca Walker and Paul Delaney (Wollongong).

The theme for this year’s cake off challenge is to make the impossible possible - they must build an edible feature a minimum of 1 metre wide, maximum height 2 metres. To increase the level of design difficulty, the scope has been left wide and rumour has it that Team International’s design includes a life size cow, pig, lamb, and duck stacked high!

Other highlights not to be missed this year include giant life-size cake sculptures, a 3 x 3m Marvel Movie sugar feature, Sweet Street (a mouth-watering sweet, bake cake market), and A Haute Couture Wedding Marquee where Australasia's most-awarded wedding cake and bridal gown designers battle it out for the title of Australasia’s best!

And that's not all! With 90+ demonstrations across three stages, hands-on classes, workshops, and master classes, 1-hour Mini Learn & Make Classes (where you'll learn to make cupcakes, cookies and sugar figurines like a pro), food trucks and a coffee connoisseur zone, pop-up shops galore and a kid zone, there's more than enough sweet activities to fill 3 days.

Good to know - Everyone’s invited to enter the Ultimate Australian Cake Decorating Competition, with $27000 in prizes up for grabs. This year, the categories range from Battle of the Sugar Giants movie inspired sculpted exhibit – think Tim Burton, Dreamworks, Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings - to edible life-sized sculptures, sugar-crafting, celebration cakes, buttercream cakes and more. Competition entry is via the Australian Cake Artists & Decorators (ACADA) website, with entries closing on Sunday, April 24 at 5pm.
Need to know - There are NO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS with regards to entry - all are welcome, with NO QR scanning at gates. Get your Earlybird tickets now!
