Women In Voice

Ipswich Civic Centre

Ipswich audiences are in for a treat when the wonderful Women in Voicecabaret show takes to the Ipswich Civic Centre stage on Sunday, 20 November.

This is the third year that Women in Voice has brought an exciting mix of talented divas to town, thrilling audiences each time with their outstanding vocal talents.

Established favourites, songstress Leah Cotterell (The Pleasure of Sad Songs) and crtically acclaimed cabaret artist, Alison St Ledger (The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust) are joined this year by newcomers, jazz chanteuse Melissa Forbes and Alicia Cush (Doll, I Can Keep A Secret), with Judy Hainsworth (#FirstWorldWhiteGirls) as MC.

Leah Cotterell has been described by Rhythm magazine as someone who "could sing the shopping list and melt your heart", and Melissa Forbes by Brisbane News as "the best of Ella, Etta and Aretha".

Meanwhile Alison St Ledger, a veteran of the Women in Voice circuit, has performed with the likes of Powderfinger and Alicia Cush is a Brisbane-based operatic performer and the founder and artistic director of both operatic ensemble Belladiva and cabaret collective Babushka.

To accompany there's the fantastic Women in Voice band accompanied by the inimitable Steve Russell.
