40th Anniversary
It was 40 years ago, on March 3rd, 1977 when Swedish supergroup ABBA touched down in Australia for their first national tour and ABBA mania swept the country.
To commemorate the epic moment in pop history, Brisbane’s Kristian Fletcher is hosting the ABBA In Australia: 40th Anniversary night on March 3rd at the New Globe Theatre in Fortitude Valley.
The evening kicks off with a screening of ABBA: the Movie (in which a radio DJ follows the supergroup on their week-long tour of Australia, trying desperately to get an interview), along with a compilation of ABBA’s video clips and archival footage of the tour.
ABBA fans are invited to come along for an unforgettable night reliving the ABBA tour in the retro cinema and end the night dancing to all of their greatest hits.
Need to know – This is an 18yrs+ event. Foyer & licensed bar open 6pm. Cinema opens 6.30pm. Movie screens 7pm
