Faulty Towers

The Dining Experience

You read it right – it’s ‘Faulty’ and not ‘Fawlty’ Towers, as in the fabulously successful 1970s TV comedy series by which all others are measured. Unlike that, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience is not just a nostalgic experience but a live, up close and personal encounter for fans of bad tempered Basil, scary Sybil and of course the lovable but hopeless “He’s from Barcelona” waiter, Manuel.

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

How many times have you wished you could actually be a customer at the famous Torquay hotel and have dinner without the ‘riff raff’ spoiling everything? Here’s your chance, when this highly acclaimed immersive comedy show returns to Brisbane twice in December: on the 4nd and the 20th, each time offering a three-course dinner and a two-hour interactive show.

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

The show’s base is in Brisbane too, but it’s been touring internationally since 2008, winning reviews that with superlatives, for instance The Edinburgh Spotlight called it ‘a masterpiece of comedic timing that is utterly compelling’ and The New Current reviewer said, ‘There isn’t a single show at any fringe festival that holds a torch to the Faulty Dining Experience; without doubt the BEST show you’re like to see!’. Our own Australian Stage calls the show ‘food-snortingly funny’ and the cast ‘amazing talents’.

They didn’t mention if there was any basil in the ratatouille (if you don’t recognise that reference, never fear – you don’t need to be a Fawlty Towers aficionado to find the show hilarious, although it certainly wouldn’t hurt to catch up on a couple of episodes before going).
