The Lamington Challenge 2014
Brisbane Cbd
The Lamington Challenge 2014 is a fun-filled free family activity held at Brisbane’s Old Government House, the historic building that is the seat of creation of the first lamington.
To celebrate National Lamington Day there’ll be a morning of lamington-themed activities including a special Lamington Hunt which will have children foraging nd playing detective between Government House and The Cube to try and uncover clues and go on to answer questions about how the national iconic cake beloved by Dame Edna came about.
To add to the fun there’ll also be a Craft Corner where young creative types can partake in lamington-based activities. And those who go on to complete the Lamington Challenge will be going in to the draw to have a chance of winning prizes such as a trip to Lone Pine Sanctuary and a family pass to The Gruffalo which is playing at the Gardens Theatre in August.
Meanwhile parents can enjoy some adult time out in the cobbled courtyard’s quaint Pantry Café, where a free coffee will be divvied out to the first 50 lucky parents as well as a special coffee and lamington deal to commemorate Lamington Day.
