One Way Street Party

Surfers Paradise

Held in the laneways of Surfers Paradise, One Way Street Party is the coast’s hip annual showcase of emerging style-makers, with this year’s event themed Paradiso.

From Appel St through to Neal Shannon Park, festival goers can take in the hottest indie bands, visual artists at work, designers and street marketeers and the latest creations from young fashion designers on the featured runway.

Entertainment throughout is on three stages – the Park Stage (1-7), Acoustic Stage (1.30-7.30) and the Gold Coast Undressed Stage where eco-friendly Daywear, Swimwear and Evening Wear will be on show between 3 and 6.

Headline acts on the Park Stage are The Vernons, who have opened for Wolfmother and wowed crowds at Big Day Out 2013 and Stonefield, the psych-rock sisters who have supported Foo Fighters and Cold Chisel.

Art figures heavily in this party too with Park It! - an all-day explosive creation by 10 artists armed with 10 canvases and materials of choice and Skate Descksabition where local artists transform skateboards into eye-popping works of art.

Also not to be missed is a visit to the SH!FT Pop up Gallery featuring the Pardiso-themed works of 8 local artists along with all day performances by the characters from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Pop-up licensed bars and tapas-style treats are on hand to keep the crowds fed and watered and as the sun goes down there’s more action to be had at the SIPFest short film festival screening in Neal Shannon Park.
